Addressing Period Poverty In Grenada

General statistics on menstrual/period poverty in the tri-island state of Grenada are limited. Menstrual poverty and menstruation are major economic and social factors for many women of childbearing age and must still be discussed publicly.

Period poverty is a lack of financial access to sanitary and safe menstrual products.
Menstrual poverty significantly impacts young menstruators' ability to succeed in school, with many young girls reporting personally or knowing someone who missed school due to a lack of access to menstrual health products. Furthermore, many low-income women in Grenada have stated that they frequently  have to choose between purchasing menstrual products and paying for necessities such as food, electricity, and water.
